I wrote this on December 4, while in DC, showed it to my friend Matt (was staying with him at the time); he liked it and said I should have posted it. We joked about [the joy of being used]. Refined it and showed it to another dear friend in the Den in early January; she also liked it. So... what the heck. :) Enjoy.

Used... and being used

Sometimes pleasure
Sometimes pain

Often mutual
Often unintentional

Learn from it
Move on

If only it were that simple

Love is... using someone, but not realizing you are doing it
Love is... being used, but not giving a damn that it's happening
Love is... wanting someone to be happy, at the expense of your own happiness
Love is... knowing when something won't work, and stopping it before it's too late
Love is... sacrifice

Let me lie down...
for you

Let me be your sacrificial lamb;
Let me be your token penance.

Use me!

Please.

For --
