Roseville, MN: An Irish Poem Town--A Political Prison Town
May 25, 2013
By Dr. Patrick A. ODougherty, Organizing for America
Minnesota towns bear a strange fruit.
There is blood on the apples and blood on the fruit.
Dollar bills swinging in the Minnesota trees
Blood fruit hanging from the apple trees!
Puerto Rican Apples for sale in a Minnesota prison.
Sovereignty is for sale in Roseville, Minnesota, a political prisoner town under lockdown!
Poems are a Minnesotan green apple each.
Ireland, Roseville and Puerto Rico are apple islands in a rose colored sun.
This poem was written out of a Sunday, May 19, Civil Liberties Conference at The Nordic Center on Cedar at 4200 in Minneapolis. A lockdown is a term used in jails and prisons.
The scapegoating side affects of the hysteria manufactured by the media is directed against Muslims and immigrants. Speakers at this conference were Joe Callaghan, Minnesota Peace Action Coalition, Coleen Rowley, FBI whistle blower, Carla Riehle, Minnesota Cuba Committee, Sue Ann Martinson, Women Against Military Madness, Steff Yorek, Committee to Stop FBI Repression, Chris Getowicz, Students for Democratic Society, Sabry WazWaz, anti war committee, Dr. Patrick A ODougherty, Carlson Heritage Wall author, University of Minnesota and a Cathedral of St. Paul Parishioner.
