Things my dad taught me.

 

Happy Father's Day "Dad"

The older we get we revisit our past
In memories we hoped, always would last
Of a man who made us who we are now
With a guiding hand he showed  us how
How to play a game, how to throw a ball
How to treat others, the best lesson of all
Most of us remember the strength and look
From the man we admired, that's all it took
An arm around your shoulder or a pat on the head
Let you know he was there as you went off to bed
The needs of a child are simple you see
Love and guidance from my Father is how Dad made me.

Yes June, if only a lot more people had the love and guidance you tell here to them as children, we can only imagine of what the world would be like, instead of all the hate and evil spread by even parents to their children today.

I love your words June...that's how I think of my Dad...even though he is no longer on this Earth...All his words and actions and guidance live on so strongly within me...
