They create sweetness
Hexagonal honeycombs
Candied amber
Spread pollen
(Little cupids!)
Allow beauty to bloom
As they jitter
Jive
From one field to the next
Settling
Only a moment
Maybe two
Then off
Once more
Bees are miraculous
Buzzing
Aerodynamic impossibilities
It’s a wonder they fly
At all
These miniature social geniuses
Flaunting
Perfect community
Hive mentality
All pulling in the same direction
(Gung ho!)
Protecting their queen
Insects
Dictating the course of
Nations
I’m allergic to bees
Oh the bees they DO be buzzin' in places where we gather. . . like roses and thorns, even metaphorically, bees must BE for us to enjoy the honey in our lives.
