A little food for thought

 Selective Memory

Selective memory helps
us forget,
promises made
we never kept.
Putting things off
sweeping under the rug,
something that meant
everything to someone you love.
Thinking tomorrow you'll
make things right,
forgetting all you have is this moment
in life.
Selective memory might work
for today,
granting you peace
that will soon pass away.
The truth you hid and held inside,
you'll answer for on the other side.

 Reviews of "Selective Memory"
Reviewed on May 18, 2014
Not all memories can be remembered. It's only because some memories are too fond to be forgotten, while some others are too insignificant for giving second thoughts, and then eventually be forgotten. Humans are not computers, we can't possibly remember everything that has happened in our lives. I'm sure you've got something that you've forgotten to remember also. Everyone has memories that they have forgotten.

I think it's just called being human! We all suffer from it sometimes...

I think we all have suffered sometime of selective
memory... not always intentional and can be quite
trivial... what is more important love? or falling
a wee bit short with a selective memory... :) I
don't think we will be condemned for that...

I don't think that it's important to remember daily details and trivial matters that often lead to arguments. However, to forget the big things, the important things, does a disservice to relationships and should be avoided at all cost.

Thanks for the reminder in your poem.
