I lost my dad to cancer recently and wrote this in his honor

Poem Artwork

 A Fathers Love

If you see my dad in heaven please tell him

this for me,

my heart holds him closer than ever

since he joined eternity.

His smile has not once left my mind

his voice I always hear,

when the wind caresses my face

I feel his presence near.

Tell him I know he's happy

beyond those hands of time,

laughing with the angels and

momma by his side.

I am his little girl

and that I'll always be,

I know the day God calls me home

he'll be waiting patiently.

Heaven gained an angle

I know that I did too,

every day we are apart

daddy's peeking through.

Watching over all of us

guiding us along,

when we feel weak and weary

his love will make us strong.

That's what daddy's do whether

here or heaven above,

nothing, not even death,

can separate a fathers love.

This poem is such a wonderful tribute to your father, and I can tell that he meant the world to you. You will see him again, and isn't it wonderful that we have that assurance? I, too, wrote a poem awhile back by the same name; however the content is different. Mine is about a moment between my sister and my father many many years ago. I would like for you to read my poem, too, that is, if you have a moment to do so. Thanks. Fine job.

AMEN AND MAY GOD CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN AND KEEP YOU. THOUGH I AM 72 AND LOST MY FATHER MANY, MANY YEARS AGO I CAN STILL RELATE, I LOVED MY DADDY TOO...HE WAS A FINE SOUTHERN GENTLEMEN. IN THE ONLY DREAM I HAD OF HIM AFTER HIS DEATH, HE WAS SINGING THAT OLD HYMN; BLESSED ASSURANCE. GOD USED HIM TO REMIND ME, HE WOULD ALWAYS BE WITH ME AND EVEN UNTIL NOW...THAT IS MY FAVORITE HYMN. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Awww, it's never easy losing a loved one, in fact, it's quite devastating! God said we're only here on this side for just a short while until He calls us home for eternity. I can only say when someone we love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a Treasure! Wishing you and yours love peace and blessings, Kathy!
