Yep I'm another year older. Life may not be perfect BUT I 'm still here!
Happy Birthday To Me I need a vacation I'm a year older and so tired. I work 10 hours a day just to survive and when the weekend comes I'm to tired to smell the roses. How sad is that? Is this what the American dream is supposed to be? Did I get the apple with the worm? Maybe my ship is still out there dancing on the waves waiting to dock, That is my hope this is my thought. Unfortunately, that's what work has become for most. While labor laws freed us up for a while from the oppressive workloads of the early 20th century, corporations have come up with new ways, primarily by the use of automation, to make work repetitive and dull. So people today are no more freer than those of 1900 when it comes to time to breathe and enjoy life.

But, you have your poetry, and like Ed said, you can plan for new adventures on your well-earned time off.

You're doing fine, Kathy. Your readers love you,
your kids love you, but I agree you need a little time
off. Plan for it and take it--even if it's just a long weekend.
