Reflections Of Youth
I remember summer rains
when days would never end,
not a worry nor a care
ocean breezes were my best friend.
Summers were brief but
ever remain,
a part of my past
in memory a gain.
Story Book Land
Old Man on the mountain,
Caleb's country store, sips
from a roadside fountain.
What a blessing it was to
to grow up there, it's beauty
lives on in my mind,
reflections of youth
mirror my thoughts
to happier simpler times.

we still managed to carve out a few good memories
making the most of what little we had.
Good poetry invokes good memories...
