Under The Willow Tree
Under the willow tree,
my childhood secret space,
dreams were born
I was free 'twas the
perfect hiding place.
Beneath her cascading branches
gentle breezes whispering,
songs of hope and wonder
the willow tree did sing.
Awe those days of youth
where innocence was born,
under the willow tree
I found shelter from the storm.
What I wouldn't give
to visit once again,
that secret space
my hiding place
that gave me peace back then.

counting all the stars and waiting for the dawn..."
Oh yes. There is something about a willow tree that stirs
the senses and jogs memories. Mine were not as innocent as yours.
A beautiful poem, Kathy.

I have written many poems about willow trees. I can relate completely with your poem!

That's a really powerful and evocative poem. A kid who doesn't have a place all his or her own to play, dream, and imagine. Is so much the poorer.
God bless,
