Pretense?
Smiles Smiling, Today, Among forced acquaintances is pretending To care When you don’t give a shit And they don’t either And we all smile Knowing no one gives a shit Because we have to and Not, Wanting to. But we still linger to pretend. Smiling, Not giving a shit; Hating it all; Especially them! Who me? I’m just smiling!

Quite apropos for those in the matrix of corporate climbing. If you don't want to be one of the recently unemployed, better to grin and bear it until you can be "the boss" and cut staff who have sourpussses with a big grin on your face because your salary just increased from your cost-cutting skills.
