Standardized tests can be hell!

 SAT

The students

Sadly sat for the

SAT.

Three hours of one dimension thinking

Squeezed between stress and

Critical thinking.

Thinking?

Knowledge based

Problems compressed to the best

Of

A

Possible

2?

Then the eeny-meenie-miny-

Moe.

Whoa!

(I personally liked Curly)

Resuscitating

Words never used,

From long dead languages

Thatcreepandimbuesemanticpuzzlesofapathetic

Pedantic Pablum.

Let’s see how they perform without time?

You wicked Board.

25 minutes to compose a work of art.

Would To-Be-Or-Too-Bee  B composed while

Doing the nasty?

Maybe,

and

Try on E=MC triangle in a

Fart?

So,

March out the 1600 deviant

Points to the future of

Pennsylvania Avenue's Seat

where they will be efficient and clever

Rehearsing humanity’s crisis with pencil in hand,

Quadratic equations at the tip,

And passages afoot piddling in a puddle

Of incomprehensible poop.

Leaving wisdom and heart

Where they SAT—

All that is meaningful,

Flushed.

Cleverly concocted with an important, apt, and timely message. Thanks for sharing. Love and peace,

I've proctored for the SAT ..... I worked at one of the nation's high schools where this is serious business, often way too serious. The tension in a stuffy, every-desk-filled room was palpable.

Excellent write....

One wildly creative, satirical, and ironic spoof of the mighty Scholastic Aptitude Test! You have captured the idiocy, nuance, and frustration of this mind-boggling test very well.

You may not believe this, but I never took these tests seriously. I never studied or fretted a minute over a test like this, even the Graduate Record Exam. However, my classmates often went berserk and did all kinds of weird things to try to overcome their fear. These are the same people that fear income tax and become slaves to conservatism. Let's face it, it's just a test of what we are capable of. If we fear the test, then we fear life. For the test does nothing but check on our abilities. Not the cramming that we did the night before, the money that our parents spent with tutors, or the unnatural fear we have of failure.

Just for your information: I've often written test at work in order to up myself to certain level. It is called "Competition" exam. One position in particular requires us to write the exam. for the entire day!!!! Lots of IQ's are being tested, as well as our memories, and quick to identify disguised individuals, quick to act on given any situations. Also we are tested whether we know which direction to drive our cars when the wind blows in certain direction. All this-in-a-day's test. Yes, life is hard and full of competitors!!!

She Intrigues Me, Revelations Of Love by Jon Willey

If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
