Phool chal padi premiyo  ke dukaano pe,

megh baras diye dwani vani iraado se;

ab kaliyo ki bardaasht ki taquat intihaano se guzregi,

lekin unki khushboo fir bhi dono raho pe jarur failegi. 

English Translation 

The frivolity of a flower - 

led it out in the open,

To cheerfully jaunt into the lover's market,

to be wishfully gifted as a token of expression -

Splashed in innocence of un bred emotions; 

The rains pored down in submission to its life, 

protecting it from the world's vast divide

Urging and pulling, pleading it to wait 

Until the moment came upon for the petals to forsake;             

To stay with the flower which is to journey on alone, 

a painful choice challenging nature's one own, 

Spreading their essence on either roads.
