THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM Tourists stroll the beaches. Shouts of joy flow from the hotel as guests frolic in the swimming pool. You might think this is a paradise but take care. Never trust the calm before the storm.

All kinds of things can go down in paradise. But of all things tropical, hurricanes are the worst. Fortunately, modern hotels in hurricane prone shores are built to withstand winds and water surges that homes cannot. They are usually back in operation shortly after the cleanup from around their grounds is completed.

The tropics are better prepared for a new round of storms than we can understand. But your poem could be a metaphor for the calm life being disrupted by a stormy relationship.
