A Proud Down Under Sky
When flag on winds of change doth fly,
Beneath a proud down under sky,
The patriots, both young and old,
Do stand together, sure and bold.
When trumpet sounds in dawning light,
As eternal flame glows ever bright,
Men and women, old and young,
Stand facing early rising sun.
When sounds of terror unsettle streets,
In Café where normal life retreats,
They stand as one before the flowers,
In vigilant prayer for many hours.
When guns rang out in the light of day,
And confusion sprung from wild affray,
They stood and watched in horror then,
Swearing terror not rule their lives again.
When violence causes hearts to fail,
For the freedom evil hearts derail,
Women and men come forth as one,
From dawn unto the setting sun.
When flag with Southern Cross doth fly,
Under a peaceful, proud down under sky,
The old and the young, patriots all,
Do stand together, bold and tall.
