This poem is for my two dearest friends...They have seen me through good tymes and bad..
This poem is written in my own Scottish language of the northeast.
Emily and Jim...
Whatever is it, aboot a smile
that has the pooer ower us beguile,
offered in honestie or wile
why fa’ we in homage
forsaking a’ that we aince kent
an’ as the sun tae us is sent
we bask...in poison pomade...
Why is it that a certain frown
aye has the dusk tae get us down,
wad clamp the joy o’ onie clown
wha fa’d under its cloud
an’ darkness be the dawn beneath
the grey haar sheath
o’ its sheltering shroud..
When seen upon a bonnie face
a smile transforms oor ain disgrace
an’ we in halloe’d secret place
greet upon oor luve..
mither earth allows us tae
sink intae the depths
or....dance wi’ stars above..
Me....I hae been twixt the twa
ne’er kent ne’er whit tae dae ava,
upon the hicht o’ Dundee La’
i’ve dreamt’ my whim....
saved by the memorie
saved by the smiles o’ freends...
lyke Emily an’ Jim...
