Gazing Eyes and Dragonflies

Champagne surges through my veins and
I flush beneath the moonlight
My feet slide from their slippers
Plunging into the damp, cool earth

I dance alone
A spectacle to behold as
I undertake the male role...
Parading myself

I dance through this introspective maze of flirtation
As their eyes burrow into my flesh -
A Damselfly in distress
Or perhaps just teasing?

The night air penetrates my lungs and
A bead of perspiration rolls down my neck
I take another sip of nectar
Surrendering to the heat

The fluttering hearts of men
Gather to me like moths to a flame
Intoxicated beneath the stars
Their gazing eyes flicker like dragonflies
