Body Snatchers

In the fifties there was a movie called 'The Invasion of The Body Snatchers.' Needless to say it was an early influence. Not quite macabre, but definitely scary.

They look like us, they even speak
Like us - yet they are different
They come from pods and grow
In hot greenhouses buried underground
They echo voices from our past,
They speak in codes we can not decipher

They are the food of worms - asteroids
Collide in outer space,
They explode inside my mind

Now the dream shifts - I am pursued
By the mirror image created by the pods
I flee from myself into the shadows
Bewildered by eternal night,
I can not find my way back into the world

I am an escapee from another dimension
Warped by the winds of time

Holy crap this one is good. I am not the only one who can do more of the dark scare than the macabre scare.
