Alone at the piano

Alone at the piano, maestro sits
His fingers dancing o flamboyant wit
Alone at the piano on the stage
His memory recalls what's on the page

Does he recall something from Tchaikovsky
Perhaps a Grassley from old Berlin
Or Paris when ruled old Napoleon
Over a tune from old Jean paderofsky.

He gives his all 3 hours and a half.
When concluded he feels as though the wrath
Of past performance has fallen on him.

Yet he hears grand applause and such the path
Is worth such to his aging widened ears
And as he bows he absorbs all the cheers
