Every Christmas mother bakes her Santa Claus cookies.
She spends two days on this project of love.
With each ingredient flour, sugar, milk, eggs and salt
she adds a little bit of her heart and soul to the batter.
She rolls out the dough and each cookie is cut with precision
placed on the cookie tray one by one, with utmost care.
Then into the oven at just the right temperature, baked to perfection and cooled.
Santa’s eyes are colored with deep blue food color
and the little red mouth smiles.
She squeezes the red and white buttercream frosting
through the cake decorator bag from boots to hat.
The love and tenderness she gave to each cookie was well received when
Her family was given a dozen of these nicely wrapped in a decorated box.
The Christmas gift that everyone wanted and waited a year to receive.
Anticipation! In our family, I was the cookie queen for many years. Now our daughter Amy wears that crown, as we all wait expectantly for her to arrive at our family dinner with cookies for all!
