I'm so exhausted it's 1:09am and I'm not tired! Which of course got me thinking, which led to a poem. Enjoy

I sit and watch the beautiful sunset
But now I’m sitting alone in the dark
I hate the dark

It reminds me of the empty void
That is in my heart
Whenever we are apart
I hate the dark

The slightest noise will wake me up
The eerie silence will keep me up
I hate the dark

It allows all my skeletons to flood right in
To my sleep deprived brain
Because God knows I can’t sleep alone
I hate the dark

My eyesight is poor
My imagination is great
I hate the dark

Sometimes it’s so bad I sleep with the light on
Sometimes I’m just too tired to care
No matter which it is
I hate the dark

Sleeping with the cats is great
Assuming they grace me with their presence
I hate the dark

I love it when you’re home
Cause then I’m never alone
And I can keep my imagination in check
I hate the dark

Tonight will be a bad night
I think I won’t turn out the light
I hate the dark
