For those of you that don't know I'm fighting Hypoglycemia and my cat (Dot) broke my laptop modem. Which means I have to walk my dizzy self through the house to go online. I know it sounds like I'm whining, but it's not an easy task. I thought this poem would amuse all of you.
I thought I had it licked
I thought I had it kicked
But instead I’ve been picked
I can’t believe I’m addicted
I thought I’d gotten over the addiction
It calls night and day
I can’t live this way
There has to be a way
I’ll find a way
It’ll happen, one of these days
I’ve fought addiction before
I showed it the door
After I kicked it to the floor
Addiction walked out the door
The whole time looking at the floor
I won before, I’ll win again
Oh God, not again!
I can’t live without it!
I gotta have it!
God how I want it!
I look out the window
Impatiently waiting for him to come
God I wish he’d come
Damn, isn’t he done?
Finish with the neighbors and come
Up to my door
God I want more
Come to my door
I can’t take it anymore!
I have to have more!
The walk isn’t far
I don’t need a car
I just need more
Please come to my door
I just want a little more
I gotta have my Authorsden!
I gotta have my AOL!
I need my damn modem!
Please bring it to my door
I can’t fight the addiction anymore!
Yes, I can understand, Melissa; Authorsden is an addiction I don't MIND having! As long as God gives me the inspiration to write, I'll do it! Excellent write!
