Unreal places

Foreign travel:
to holiday
to war

These are time warps;
Through The Looking Glass experiences...

So what, then, of those
who don't return;
who go into The Tardis
but do not come out again?

Back home
our real lives
will enter the time warp also

and evermore run
parallel
with the life behind
a mirror
that we know to be real

and yet which gives
no hint
of its own existence
as it stares unblinking,
reflecting nothing more
than our own real life
back to us
however hard we stare...


But it does blink -
and another life
is mysteriously absorbed
into The Warp,
creating another
Back In Reality

Happens in an instant
Freezes in time for ever
Suspended animation
on both sides
of the glass -

Deep still waters
reflecting
without a ripple
