I am loving this sequence, but feel I am in danger of over-egging the pudding with them! I have possibly one more after this... then I'll draw a veil over the Model and her Artist for a wee while... :))
ARTIST'S MODEL 5
Taking hold of the palm of his hand,
she traced for him
the invisible scar
that no-one had ever seen:
From her forehead,
past her ears;
over her eyes and
down across her lips;
From the nape of her neck,
round her shoulders;
against her heart,
then abdomen...
Years of emotional
abuse or neglect
that had coloured her thinking,
and blotted her self-image;
That had yoked her neck,
broken her heart
and rendered her life barren.
The line of pain
that was now erased
with just a single
brushed stoke.
I've managed to read this series of little gems in reverse order. Despite my lack of co-ordination, it didn't detract from the fact that you certainly know how paint a beautiful picture on a poetic canvas, your brushstrokes are masterful.
No way are you over doing it with these!!!!!!!!!!

These are a light read, with a intense flavor!!! YUM YUM I am loving it.....!
And ya know what else???
In some of these, I am seeing parts of myself!
Maybe its a universal woman thing? But whatever, it gives power to this poetry, and I believe, finding a whisp or hurricane of the familiar in a write, is what makes it all the more special and relatable.....................AND cherished. I personally think you should continue.........and if you don't I want you to email me the series!!!!

Wonder if Botham likes these..Hope she didn't model at the naggers nags head. Would Botham show his shoes and say kiss me Kate..
EACH stanza stands alone as an ok write, just kidding, nope they are great Kate..
We do have imaginary scars that most people cannot see, as we cover them up so well, just as an artist removes the imperfections of his models with his brush. Nice write on how we look at ourselves.
this is my favorite so far, kate...although i have enjoyed them all

Intense pieces these "models". They are sure to make an excellent book of poems. Keep developing the story through the verse and you are certain to have a winner! Notwithstanding, they are exceptional works! Thanks for all your interest and support. I left one final poem as this is my last day here. I know we will chat, so bye for now...

Kate, this has been a truly heartfelt and eye opening series of extraordinary writes. If only one could be fully healed by the stroke of a brush. Wonderful composition. Thanks for sharing them all.
