She became the fountainhead,
the sacred stream
flowing into, feeding
his river of
ceaseless creativity;
A crystal spring,
teeming with freshwater life -
swollen, fluid;
saturated and heavy
with his fullness
A life of fertile moisture,
ample and fleshy,
cultured by
his sable brush in water;
humidified by the stirrings
of his soft and silky
palette colours
into ripples of
living intensity
Squeezed tubes of oils;
mulches of gouache;
pools of seeping ink:

Both were always wet
with the passion of
liquid water colour

I certainly hope you are sending some of these to a publisher or twenty! This poem is essential poetry Kate! I'd like to pick a favorite line but it is impossible. They are each stand-alone good forming a piece which transcends worthiness. The artistry of this is overwhelmingly brilliant. One critique, the word crystal is not only entirely overused in poetry it is also lacking depth amongst the rich words surrounding it. A real masterpiece of writing! I read it eight times and the flowing assonance and consonance is divine art.
