Your poem is phenomenal - how you achieve such balance and perspective without dropping into emotion as I seem to is beyond me. What strikes me most is the promise and potential of the boy trapped in every man evoked by both poem and photo. Excellent work here, Kate.

This took guts! I'm speechless!..wow!
Splendid work!
I hope this painful and honest write was cathartic. Daddys are loved and cherished for what they COULD have been as well as what they were. I'm sorry for your pain Kate. I know your loss because I had the greatest dad in the world. But it seems as though you have forgiven his failings and have come at least partly to terms with his absence. Hugs...(You favor him)
Oh Kate this says so much and you poured your heart out here I can tell. The good thing is and it shines through quite well here is that you have the intelligence to figure it all out and know that no blame can correct the past. I am honoured when you call me "Pops" cuase I know you mean it as a sincere compliment from your heart to mine. Keep up the good words, Kate.
Splendid poem Kate! I was blessed with a fantastic father and always hurt for those who weren't ! Love the photo, what a great array of Aunts you have;-)Glad you overcame the situation!
Wow! This one makes me tear up. So sad, but so well written. I'm so thankful for my wonderful daddy. The picture is priceless. Wish I could known each one of those girls. xxxooo Janet
Thought you might be, Andy... there's a lot of "us" out here! And don't you worry: children are highly sensitive to the spiritual vibes surrounding situations, and I reckon you will always be and remain SuperMan to Seb - who I am sure will have picked up from his mother the REAL reason for him not being able to see you. Keep channelling the loving vibes his way and I can guarantee the floodgates will open - one day: "for everything there is a season". Konfident Kate xx

I'M THE DADDY...
This is a sad write Kate, but as you've erm, erm matured? you now see it from an old (ish) ladies view.
Sad both for parents and children. Kinda heartrending brave write.
Not seeing my son. Oftentimes wonder what he thinks too?
Sepsis knocked her down and out. Faith, hope, and gave her the strength to get back on her feet. I am a Runner She fought the river of death They said she'd never run again
She proved them wrong...
Asa D Seeley, a young Afro American man, shares his struggle to leave his past behind as he reaches for his future. In his one-of-a-kind style, he searches for answers...from the visible & invisible. A Memoir in Poetical/Prose form.
Splendid work!
