Makin Sumthin Out'a Nuthin

This just dribbled out of my head whilst stirring the supper a couple of weeks' back... No, it wasn't curry, but it oozed masala-like as Eric Clapton's Running On Faith played on the radio... :)) xx

PS It is, for me, a strict kind of form though I don't know if it's a "real" one? Title 4-4, then three tercets 4-5-6 followed by a couplet 4-5 and single line 6. Don't think I planned that... it just fell out that way!

MAKIN SUMTHIN
OUT'A NUTHIN

“Baby”, you say,
“we ain’t got nuthin
‘cept imagination.”

“Honey”, you drawl,
“we got no road ‘cept
tomorrow’s unlit path.”

“Sugar”, you croon,
“we ain’t no-one but
two bread-sharin travellers

runnin on faith,
seekin out the truth,

Fire Always In The Heart”.

Nice work Kate...isn't it funny how those thoughts fall into our minds, willing our need to express the imagination as you so well show the simpleness and the enormity of those words giving yourself and the reader a view into the creativity of that burning fire deep within us.

runnin on faith
seeking out truth,

those two lines express and expose the very heart of one's soul, very nice Kate...

All Dorothy had was a yellow brick road ahead and faith in her heart. Let your imagination work overtime in the dream factory!
the hit factory where Clapton has been running on faith remarkably well.

When the Muse strikes (even whilst stirring supper), write it down. They're usually the best ... flows like lyrics. Well done, Kate!

I like it and think that again you come up with such passionate but real words for the everyday people, I could easily see this being the backbone of a great song for the likes of Springsteen, Billy Joel or yea even Eric Clapton. Great to see you back and spreading the ink my dear friend Kate.
Big Canuck hugs to you,
