POSSESSION

We sleep within their lives like cats and rove
Out into the night, and late return and coast
Their souls like furniture.”

Unthinking
you’re my constant stream
of consciousness;

and I’m made manifest
souly in your eyes or
coiled in the root of your voice.

In your death will I yet live?
Existing, would your life go on
without me?

You, the absent great unknown
and self the ever-present stranger:

spectres of our mutual possession.

This is not just spooky Kate... It's philosophical.
Maybe it's just me, but spooky implies a more physical and, in a way, superficial kind of reaction. The questions that rise here are deep and complex, not just spooky. :) That first stanza is very intriguing and sets the tone.
