It is always whats inside that matters in all things. Outward things fade away, but stories of the heart will always stay.
It takes a woman to place a smile on a man’s heart. A girlish grin, blonde hair tickles his face. She is a delight, for all his senses come alive when she is near. She is a lady when she needs to be and a wild lover at other times. She makes him proud because she is her own self. Neither owned nor controlled by no man. She gives without asking to receive. She gives counsel and friendship, yet she needs and he doesn't see. She needs the little things in life. Flowers without reason or expectation. Little notes left under the pillow. A cup of coffee or tea at work; a letter in the mail; a night out with her friends; to know she is his world. Those are the things he doesn’t see. He works and that is his life to her. He provides outwardly not what she craves inside. Her eyes move to those who will meet her needs. The desire to be best friends with someone she loves is intense. To make love for just no reason excites her. He misses the fact that she is just human. He only looks at her as his wife not his friend or lover. It is sad to say, many need a life this way. An outlet for their soul, an inside connection with another who shares the same thoughts; same desires; same understandings. You never have to see the clouds in life if you can only smell the rain. Life gives us time and time will surely make our life. Let me always smell the rain before the storms overtake me. Let me seek shelter and protect what’s inside.
Well done and so very sensitively written. Yes, it is what is inside, in the heart and soul. The outside is only a shell and time has ways of changing what once was, but inside the fire burns bright....

If I had it my way, this would be required reading for all engaged couples. It is beautiful!
