Now tell me this, dear solemn man, while on the earth you crawl then stand
beneath the rivers of heavens shores which always were from here before
creating life in all we see in universal harmonies
that quietly blend to make anew the wondrous living in earthy views
and tell me how it is you found no way to loosen or unbound
yourself, your mind, your breathing soul to bless not curse all that is shown.

Then tell me why that I would waste such glorious days among this place
that came to me on my first breath to bring in life from poets dreft
a new beginning in written seed that craves a listener who can see
inside the minds of mysteries that few may know and few find please
their ancient mind from years untold found only in the stars that glow
in clouds of heavens far and wide where always lives a new day’s life.

Now tell me this, oh wearied man, why did my soul on words did plan
to speak to those who can conceive the endless possibilities
found anew every day, in some small word, in some small place
the will to breathe into the world a time of day which does unfurl
a pleasant rhyme to challenge minds beyond where others look to find
a glow of goodness spreading light that shatters darkness and its might.

Then tell me why I wouldn't lend my hands and mind to poet's pen
to dedicate these verses to myself and others that oft are moved
by a wondrous moment where our lives find meaning beyond cares
of what does beg to steal our time with weighted visions from inside
the drab, the history, the uninvolved, where we stand fast and resolve
our lives to be a better cheer to anyone whose eyes cast here.

Now tell me this, you dear sweet man, tell me all the casual bant
that never touches depth of mind in such a haven as is mine
inside my life where I know not the cause and jaunt of all that's talked
while plowing through inside these words to bring to life such a verse
to tantalize myself alone where all that's thought becomes the known
and all the known becomes a seed again in poet garden dreams.
