Poem Artwork

Pebbles touch my toes cold yet burning
Sand sounds crunching in my ears
Waves bounce joyfully about my vision
Called for by the sensual voice of the sea

I sink slowly sideways into the waters motion
Salt lines my lips from its light teasing touch
Breath held just for the moment as I float
Just bobbing about like the seaweed

Touched by the sun caressed by the sea
My body does careen about to dance with it
The heartbeat of the earth moves around me
Making one lose all sense of place or time

Softly yet gently the sea pushes me back
Placing my feet to touch on earth’s shore
Not my place to stay there much longer
Kissed by the waves then lain down once more

Once again pebbles touch my toes cold yet burning
Sand sounds crunching in my ears
Waves bounce joyfully about my vision
I turn my back and leave the lonesome shore
