I took a box and put a rose in it every time I felt lost
A reminder that when all seems confused I can still
See the beauty in the things that I do.
Some dried from time, some like brand new
They remind me of all the things yet to do.
Though I might have fallen, I always get up
The sweet smell and the beauty are really enough.
How can I complain, when I look in the box?
They remind me of all of the lessons you've taught.
Through each separate rose I have learned something
New. They are here to remind me just what I've been
Through. So when I get discouraged and start to feel
Blue, I open my rose box and start out anew. So when
My times done here, this box will be huge. Just place
It beside me a reminder of all I went through. The
Thorns represent the hard and the blue, The buds
Are for the beautiful things I've seen to. Though
Both are contained there, just sniff with your nose
I always come out smelling just like a rose.
