Let me be the one
fall into nothingness
lap at the shore
with no regret
nor memory of past waves
Swirl and float free
simple autumn leaf
flitting aimlessly
no misery
simple resignation
Jump from the nest
alive
in the here
now
no yesterday
to look back upon
nor future dread
A short life cycle
from death --
no fight
for what is
nor what is not
'tis the nature
of its being
Let me be the one
who drifts away
amnesia, my friend
place your smile
in a box
close the lid
be forgotten
Let me be the one
who can forget
