In times of trial,

we find ourselves

not knowing what to do,

or which way to go.

In the midst of confusion,

it’s easy to block

the needs of those

around us…

looking instead on

our angst,

and our pain.

But giving

to others

who need who we are,

helps us to find peace

in our hearts

and our lives.

Redirecting our pain

by easing another’s,

makes our own pain

much lighter…

we find reasons for joy…

newly blessed by all

we’ve been given.

In walking a mile

in another man’s shoes,

we have the chance to relearn

the gratitude for

the perfect fit

of our own.
