Poem Artwork

" Never count your chickens...before they hatch "

...............................................................................

Walking down the road under dark star filled skies

Streetlights illuminate the way

Being alive is good, I know it is

I welcome and savor each day

To have your health and strength of mind

Nothing can ever compare

Realise the worlds is yours

Just make of it what you will

When things are not quite right

It's because there is a part of your self

That is out of step with God

Search yourself and find the flaw

And remedy it straight away

Instant relief will be yours

The moment you put wrong away

I meet some friends from long ago

They're changed in so many ways

The passage of time sweeps along

Altering the landscape of life

Little kids I once knew

Are now full grown adults

Nothing ever stays the same

The secret is not to resist the flow

And take the good with the bad

Returning home, the night air chills

I zip up my jacket for warmth

I look the world right in the eye

With presence of mind at my core

Alert and vigilant to movement and sound

A steady rhythm of pace eats up the ground

I breathe in the scent of night flowering jasmine

And purposefully take hold of my key

Another day rounded off in excellent fashion

Yes,exuberant and enthusiastic I'll stay

Hurrah for you!! Never stop meeting life head-on. With a spring
in your step and an eye for the perfect detail to share through
a poem or story. Make us smell jasmine again!! 'Pea' <3

Your work always inspires.

"I look the world right in the eye." A great line. I only way to look.

Live and let live, love and let love, flower and fade, and follow the natural curve of the stream, which flows on. Life is a flow, a soft-curving flow, a flowing together and a flowing apart and a flowing together again, in a one-flowing motion that has no full-stops, even if there are rough places. And only the flow matters, Peter.

This is what real faith is all about. I read the conclusion of your poem and admire that presence of mind. Some of us still have a lot of work left ahead of us. Thank you for all the inspiration you bring to us. ~~Carmen
