Thanks for reminding me of this great tale. We've got two sirens at the office. It's a good thing my Odysseus is tied to a mast (wheelchair) or they'd have me crashed on the rocks (sexual harrassment) for sure. ;-)

Dear Peter, the vastness of your knowledge of mythology, history and legends of ancient lore, is truly a pleasure to behold and partake of. Like so many others you have shared before, this poem is not only beautifully written, but conveys a wise lesson that may have been already implicit in the legend of Odisseus and the Sirens itself, but which you here render more explicitly. May the "Odisseus" of our era never need to be tied to masts or to block their ears with bees' wax - and may not all choices be blamed on "sirens", but may they always be guided by clear insight and a listening soul. Thank you, dear Poet, for one more splendid offer.

From mermaids ro sirens the myth will always be intriquing. When I lived in Germany it was Lorilei. She caused many a ship to sink while in the Rhine River. Your writings remind of those days in Europe and the mystery that is abundant anywhere near water.

Beware of the beautiful and alluring Sirens...a powerful warning that many didn't heed, and crashed upon the rocks. An excellent write, very well penned. And anytime I hear the Sirens, I'm running for cover. 'Round these parts, they usually advertise severe weather!

((Peter )) this amazing..The words seem to flow from your spirit over and over like music...I picture you just mesmerized by these terrific stories,places, my friend...I'm kinda in the mood to start writing about the star people and certian places like the Egyptians..I also thought of the Amazon today...I think mythology is fascinating, totaly.I feel they would make great books and screenplays..Excellent write as always..!!!
