A loving heart is the true st wisdom.”

 Charles Dickens quote

..................................................................

Watching the puff candy clouds billowing above

a warm autumn sun cascading dreams on the elms

as I walk through the tinted leaves scattered below

my mind muses the present situation with grace

and a snipe is drumming, in familiar circular flight

I realise to go forward, sometimes requires a reality check

to break with the past, and steer a new course

towards the stars, and welcoming new shores

the snapdragons are fading, in the decreasing light

red squirrels are gathering provisions

for winter's harsh and bleak bite

I have always been a pragmatist

with the caveat, of following my heart

mapping the gridlines, with consummate ease

we really don't know, what is good for us at all

there is an underlying current, that plots the outcome

so to move forward, we must unify our wills

to that which discerns, the beginning and the end

the mysterious wind, began to stir the trees

and I felt a divine hand, ruffle gently my hair

supernatural confirmations, that stilled my soul

while the unbroken silence, called me to heed the call

"Reality Check"
Your words beckon one to the place in which
you write. Simply wonderful filled with a trove
of imagery, I loved it!
Thank you for the refreshing read, keep up the wonderful work!

If life were predictable, would we want it that way...to plot our own course from beginning to end? I think not, prefering to live day by day, fate cast to the wind, full sail and guided by one who knows far more than I. Never stop listening to the the whispers of your heart or the mysterious wind, a perfect guide.
Love,
Taylor

You have a lovely flow and rhythm to your work -- so easy to read and enjoy -- and it makes your reader want more. This is no exception and it was good.

Peter,

How beautifully you convey the unparalleled touch of the Holy Spirit, confirming your thoughts!

What we seekers soon learn, is that we must let go of the past, in order to attain the future. Thank God, He nudges us...in the right direction. Ours is to follow, as you have so deftly shown, in this work of art.

Love&blessings, Rhonda ps. another uncommon photo..a 1000 words

I felt the seasons changing with this Peter and the dawning of a new era, which may at times give cause for some trepidation. As you beautifully convey, with a deeper understanding of one's spiritual side we can find reassurances to know that we are heading down the right path. Lead on Warrior! Much love Panda :)

Our feathered friends never fly bachwards and I wonder if they have feelings of rejection or stress of any kind. I think mankind should take a deeper look at our creatures for they may just hold the key to harmony. Thanks Peter.

A poem of much discernment indeed. Casts a keen eye on the material stirrings of the world while maintaining an empowering meditative connection with the spiritual. Most moving for this reader is the balance layered throughout this poem. Prompts one to wonder what the modern world might be like if those in positions of leadership could apply such harmonious equanimity to their reasonings and motivations.

As refreshing and harmonising as the first warm breath of spring, Peter. Your writes that weave spirituality and nature so seamlessly are always awe-inspiring and affirming. You have such a natural affinity with your inner and outer environments. You writing here seems as flowing and effortless as the deep integrity of your thoughts. Love this, thank you. Kate xx

"Puff candy clouds" is a great descrition Sir Peter. I've never heard it said the way before. Excellent image!

I too am quite pragmatic Peter. I am exceedingly more interested in practical results than philosphical excuses. Reality checks come often in my own life. There are quite mandatory, in my opinion, to shaking oneself from the lethargies of "tunnel vision" and staid thinking, and taking stock of exactly whats around you.

The beginnings of new, more powerful seasons in ones life are often subsequent to reality checks.

An excellent thought process here Sir Peter the Perceptive.

Peter, I am in awe! This piece is so multi-layered, at least in my humble opinion. The interpretations can be varied but, to me, the underlying message is our need for continuance. Our paths are shown to us if we but listen to that mysterious wind. Great writing!
