The pic that I've posted with this poem is of the tattoo that my friend and I just got. I was blessed to have two best friends in this life, and this poem is written for one of them :)(and in response to Eileen..that tat is on the back of neck between my shoulder blades ;) )
Ten years of my life have seen you complete the other half of me a friendship forged amidst the fires of youth bonds that survived through anger, betrayal, and lies ties made stronger through forgiveness, acceptance and love a sister found in a stranger a voice of reason sounding within a fog of doubt confidante, comforter, supporter all these things and more You are one of two loves of my life not of my blood that remain and stand strong and for that I'll be eternally grateful.
A strong friendship is worth more than its weight in gold. What a wonderful poem and tribute to the bond, Danielle. I'm such a baby. I could never sit still for a tat.
This is beautifully stated Danielle, a wonderful tribute, and you are blessed to have a friend that you have come this far with. It sounds mutual, so it should last if you take good care of it. Friendship is precious and should never be discarded without some very powerful reasons. I'm thankful for the few good friends I have over decades that have seen me through all of my crisis.. I love the tattoo, may I ask where it's located;-)...Love, Eileen
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
Nice tribute..
