Eyes of icy blue
settle on me
I feel that electric stare
the heat encompassed
in your gaze
as I turn and see you
standing across the room
watching
You've spoken to me before
of fantasies
of late-night dreams
of hours passed remembering
the shape of my lips
the slant of my eyes
the curls that sway to my waist
I want your touch
to play out your fantasies
to re-live your dreams
to feel your lips claiming mine
to feel your weight
pressing me into the mattress
But it can never be
you are bound to a life
you vowed to cherish
and I will not be
the blade that severs those ties
This attraction will forever be
what it has always been
Forbidden desires only
remembered in the quiet
of the nights we both
spend alone

Sometimes the forbidden yet unrealized is much better than the realized. I found that out all too late with my ex-husband. You've expressed this amazingly Danielle. Michelle

Very nice D- all too familiar too- Nothing wrong with a little favorite FAntasy. YOUr right to approach what is forbidden would bring on more pain... if known. Thank you 4 this. Wonderfully written too.. Loved reading it. HuGs,Sheee

This piece is very moving, well written and I can't speak for others but I think anyone who has ever had either a real or even imagined love affair with someone unavailable can emphazize with it so easily. Your words make me want to reach out, hug you hold your hand and say there will be another who will be loveable to only you someday.

Don't let those nights go by too long, give yourself to that person, and that person to you...if you are both alone, you both deserve the other, don't wait too long for feelings change and you cannot turn back the clock, unfortunately...Ed
