ex problems again..venting

sitting in this empty room where
so many memories still remain
I can almost smell the cologne
almost see you walking in again
what happened, what did I do?
why do you have to be who you are?
couldn't you have tried a little harder?
did you have to take things so far?

never doubt my convictions
never say I didn't try
it was your choice to f*** me over
your choice to tell me those lies
tell me was I too demanding?
you used to be the world to me
you made your points with your fists
the angry marks that everyone could see

sitting in this empty room where
so many memories linger on
your scent's already fading
peace of mind lets me know you're gone
I'll never be that weak again
you brought out the worst in me
couldn't you have tried a little harder?
be the man in you I used to see

That's the problem I guess. In the beginning we often see a person that does not exist. Once we realize, we start moving towards the end...and love dies.
Touching write.

Just dropped by to return your visit. I agree, the "Art of Venting" is truly a delicate one and I too turn to poetry/prose to get thoughts out of my head...

God Bless,

the power and poise of the writer potrays that there is something beyond life.It gives hope to unsong hereos and for me ideas rule the world not structure; ideas that are profusely poured live after forever. abraham- san pablo university ceu, spain.

I agree with Paul here this is a great poem that sends a strong message of hope and encouragement to other victims. Life is an open book as Paul states but so is new love, when we read those first few pages it is meant to hook us into reading more and it is sometimes not till we have read most of the book we realize it was the shits and a waste of our time, so go find a new book. I think Love is like that in a lot of ways.

Danielle,

Sometimes people only allow us to see what they want us to. Life is an open book and we can never tell what's behind the cover until we flip through the pages. Your venting is well justified.

Vent away - we all need to vent from time to time. It's sad the world has so many people like that - replacing love with anger, and taking it out on the ones closest to them. -- Jeff

People change -
Some for the better; and some for the worse.
In your mind you are probably realizing that
you have made the right choice.

Well-done!
