In Wisdom from the Four Agreements by don Miguel Ruiz, the second agreement is "don't take anything personally." The author writes: "Nothing they think about me is about me; it is about them." To me, this is what your lovely words convey - a truth that if we could all accept, we could live lives with an inherent immunity to being emotionally injured by other people.
