Yes this poem truly covers what most of us know deep down but often rationalize away out of a need to slip by various unpleasant emotions. Usually though as your poem suggests we are only fooling ourselves and prolonging the pain. Well done Suzie.

Suzie I think the truth is what sets us free, even if it hurts, and we are not believed, it is still best because we at least have the peace of knowing we deal in truth! Excellent query/poem!

Sometimes the truth is unclear as we see through a clouded lens, but in time it does reveal itself--usually after a lesson is brought home a second or third or more times. We are a stubborn lot and find it easier to cling to illusions out of fear, but the heart knows. And you, dear heart, are very wise...

This is indeed most thought-inciting, Suzie. Often, we do not wish to look to ourselves for the solution to problems around us. It's easier to blame something else or others.
