Greed raises its ugly head All around good hearts see red Except the soul whose heart has bled And yearns, yearns for high times sped
Yet, why can’t it see when looking at me? That I only hope for a heart that’s free Why can’t we give another day? To souls in despair who've lost their way
But Greed it knows, come what may Is unable to give of life’s ripe displays Instead it wants to covet them To keep the beat and fill the bin
Oh Greed, Oh Greed when you’re done Please come back to earth Release the tension, widen your girth And maybe then new life will birth
Flowa well and true like an Aesop's fable with amessage that can never be repeated enough especially at the start of what is often a season though intended to share ends up one of greed and want. Thank you Suzie for your sweet reminder in this wonderful poem of yours.
