I see that 'evil' is 'live' backwards and 'devil' is 'lived' backwards ...
(written after a New Year's eve experience)
Jesus truly has the power To cause devilish ones to cower Just say his name And the one who’s profane Will run a mile, with thinking that’s vile
It’s a shame, people live under his name Yet drink and drink, fire water From ‘Satan’s’ ink Then think and think, into new calamities sink Wondering why they live life on the brink
I believe alcohol is the most dangerous drug there is. So many people throughout history have been maimed by "vainly reaching for the bottle, for the pain to ease." It is a sad fact of life. This poem reflects how people can be their own worst enemies and then they wonder why their lives are in shambles. Well done.
