Sure it's a beautiful day, big deal
Why would I want to do anything
go anywhere,
socialize with people in the flesh
who don't use pseudonyms
instead of their real names
Why should I,
when I can sit right here
and take myself so seriously,
believing I am communicating
on some psychic ethereal level
with someone I've never even met
I'm a poet dammit !
Sure, you may coax a nervous laugh from me
but with my head so far up my ass
I need a deeper meaning,
something dark and depressing perhaps,
or maybe a social commentary
on war, disease, natural disaster
or the terrible, horrible,
utterly horrific state of the world in its
final hour of biblical prophesy
I could even write in code to someone
of my delusional fantasy,
steal the lines of their works,
or cite the quotes of ancient philosophers
'cause I'm a poet dammit !

...well not really...So...

I think instead I'll jump into the shower,
head out, and enjoy a nice lunch at the beach
with my babe on this beautiful day. C'Ya :)
