The final gate is opened and there's a steep hill to God's home

Your soul said goodbye and parted, but it didn’t go alone

You see  along with you  went a little...of everybodies’ heart

Your children and grandchildren they each gave a little part

Your Mother, sisters and brother’s, let their part go as will

Friends who truly loved you, also helped you climb that hill

You paid us well for what we gave, in ways we didn’t know

You gave us everlasting memories, that in our hearts will grow

We'll meet again someday I'm sure, in a place where theres no pain

We'll hug and bask in sunshine and walk a perfumed summer lane

We'll laugh and share the goodtimes we knew in days gone by

We'll have our place in heaven, we'll never feel the urge to cry

So now walk on by dearest, there's a spot reserved for you

I'll be a better person now, and it'll be because of you.

Beautiful work of art, Felix.
This teaches us death is not goodbye
but just another door opened.

Your friend, ~Linda

"The Hill to Heaven's Gate" flows from the fountain of grace to spread friendship and love throughout its course, as a mellifluous river of fraternity.

I salute You, Sublime Poet!

What a lovely tribute to a departed loved one and I believe it's true
that they (loved ones) do take with them bits of our hearts when they depart and yes,you are right,in return they do leave us 'everlasting memories' to treasure.
I really enjoyed this excellent read, thank you.
Best wishes
from
Kay
