Hard as Steel Yet Soft as a Feather

How can a man be a man women wonder.

Hard as Steel Yet

Soft as a Feather

I never - ever backed down from a fight

When I thought the cause was just

I spit out teeth and blood and guts

But I smiled as I passed the macho man test

Wept like a baby the night  my daughter was born

Frightened and weary to hold her at first

Scared out of my wits when she took her first step

And to leave her was worst

I could drink a quart of rum

Chased by a flat of beer

Race a car down doing ninety

And not show any fear

But when Momma took sick

I sat at her bedside night after night

Just praying to God

He’d let her be mine one more night

A man can be as hard as steel

When a man he needs to be

But…women, love or babies

Turn him soft as a feather easily.

It only takes the first sight of our child to make our hearts feel soft as a feather. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing what we have created. Very good Karen

Felix,
It's always a good thing when one becomes relaxed with their compassionate self.
I'm afraid I never measured one up by the amount of alcohol they could ingest..
Only by the amount and depth of their heart..
Loved this write Felix.

You would be surprised the women who go more for the "soft as a feather" man instead of the macho he man type. Ask the mother of
your beautiful daughter and I'm sure she will agree. A parent never forgets the birth of their children. Excellent write, my friend.
