Nova Scotia, Quiet, Gentle Beauty
Lake smoke fog so pure and white sits like a cloud upon the lake
Reds and yellows of fall’s last leafs, from nature’s palette running wild
Nova Scotia’s quiet, gentle beauty known to soothe the weary mind
Erasing all that’s wrong in life with a peacefulness feeling soft and mild
Majestic oaks and maple trees and towering pines of green
Form a canopy over the road that winds inland from the sea
There’s not a ripple on the Lake William, it’s like a glass surfaced skating rink
A marsh loon calls her mate come back, come back...to me
Waverly Road winding gracefully following some old stage coach route
Roller coaster ride dipping up and down there’s always a surprise
A squirrel, raccoon or perhaps a speckled fawn following her mother’s path
God’s special place to forget the woes of this world and find beauty for the eyes
Through the icing of an early morning frost highlighting all with white
I felt again the Nova Scotia magic image that lingers long in one’s heart
One you want to share with everyone but also want to keep it to yourself
Because you know that you will miss it dearly when it’s time for you to part.
