Old Pals Across the Border
Hello old friend and how’ve you been
Sam why don't you sit and rest a spell
Thank you Maple Leaf, I think I might
I have some news to tell
You see I’m just a little weary friend
I’ve been scrapping for a bit
It’s hard being the world’s big brother
You so seldom get to sit
Yes I’ve had your back a time or two
I know you’ve covered mine
With our friends the Brits and Aussies
We sure stopped a lot of crime
Yes I remember Maple Leaf
Men were men and war was war
Now though it’s a brand new game
There are cowards at our door
I know Sam it’s a struggle
The Iraqi terrorists don’t fight fair
Some people here still wish that we
Could help you more way over there
Well it’s time to go back little brother
No rest the weary take
We’ll do our best to hold the line
Because democracies still at stake
We’ll be waiting in the wings Sam
Our flag with yours to cross
We hope that we’ll be ready
To help ease your deadly loss.

And you told me poetry wasn't your thing...
This is OUTSTANDING!!!
