Outside the Ivory-Cross Castles God Works His Wonders Too!
The bum shivered and shook in his ragged Sally Ann suit
As he huddled lonely for warmth in his box
He munched a donut so old it wore of mould
While his eyes darted and flicked like a fox
The palace of stone's light like a beacon did shine
But it offered no welcome for a man such as he
Heard Christmas bells chime and felt so alone
The man knew that was the way it must be
He saw the manger in front and he wondered with luck
Could he use some of the manger’s warm straw for his bed?
Baby Jesus won’t mind if a man who ain’t got a dime
Takes enough for a dry spot for his head
When the church doors closed so slowly he rose
Shuffling cross the street in his oversized shoes
They had holes in the toes, and laces of string
And were insulated with yesterdays news
He slid past the wise men said ‘scuse me to Mary
And slid down near a spotlight for heat
In the shadow of baby Jesus in a stable wood
He nestled in warm from his head to his feet
When the service was over parishioners gathered
To sing carols beneath the starry night
They gasped and they swore for the cops to be sure
Tp remove this nasty bum from their sight
He rose seeking pity but the like a good Christian city
The police complied with their demand
Till a child yelled to look at the porcelin baby
The child saw something he didn’t understand
The hands of Christ Child reached out to the hobo
As tears trickled down plaster so cold
A miracle showed that the world isn’t right
Jesus wanted us to live the lessons he told.
I have always felt that ANYONE should be welcomed in God's house. That no one should be turned away. This is an incredible story
that should be published for the world to read. You have amazing
talent.
