The hour’s dead space weighs heaviest when time loses its true meaning
Mind unravels space lost images that you know you should be weaning
You held them all so subconsciously now they start breaking cover
Haunting hearts and tormenting souls like some spiteful, resentful lover
Clock ticking off the freedom of the hours before the dark
Fingers tapping nervously a funeral dirge rhythm on its mark
Like nails scratching cross a blackboard cold shivers down the spine
As the darkness over takes you and you know it’s night's own time
She’s standing in the bedroom doorway, come hither look on her face
No mortal widow of this world she takes the raven’s evil place
She rapes you with the metaphors of words you must divulge in fear
Splintered feelings of your failings she’s the devil she don’t care
Till the sun brings back some semblance of your living effigy
Into the voided passage she returns to dwell with her morbid legacy.
Take care,
Sherry
